WORKING ON
"TZA ESCAPE CHALLENGE"
AS GAME & NARRATIVE DESIGNER
WORLD BUILDING, SCRIPT WRITING, NARRATIVE DESIGN, GAME DESIGN, PUZZLE DESIGN.
In collaboration with TexTown Games I designed and wrote the TZA Escape Challenge still exibited at the TZA innovation center in ULFT, The Netherlands. Here healthcare professionals complete two rooms to discover the possibilities of Healthcare Technology for their clients.
In the challenge, the players step in to the house of Wim Veenakker to help reconnect his house of the future. As a retired factory worker Wim can live at home longer, safer, and healthier with the help of technology. Though when the tech failed, you're asked for help.
As the designer and writer I was responsible for deciding which technology was used, establishing the character connected to the location the escaperoom is played, and create a realistic potential of the future application of health technology in the house of seniors with solutions developed today.

DESIGN OF THE TZA ESCAPE CHALLENGE
SUMMARY
On the left you see the design flow of both the livingroom (Puzzle 1) and the bedroom (Puzzle 2) The living room had a linear structure to introduce the player to a realistic scenario where one technical failure prevented Wim from sending their daily medical information to the doctor. With basic problemsolving skills and researching the narrative assets, see right, the teams would receive parts of the safe code after each step.
